GUIDE TO THE FOOD DEFENCE APPROACH

With the emergence of requirements relating to Food Defence, which are set out in the different food certification standards (i.e. IFS, BRC and FSSC 22000 in particular), firms in the food sector are coming to an understanding of their vulnerability when faced with malicious, criminal and terrorist acts.

However, when it comes to formalising and putting in place safety measures, operators in the food chain become unsure of themselves. Drawn up by a group of firms in the Aquitaine region of France, “The Methodological Food Defence Guide” provides straightforward tools which are based on the IFS Food 6 standard and on their own feedback. It is very practical, and is full of concrete illustrations, such as a prior prevention measures identification table and also an example of how to make a site secure.

With its Food Safety System Certification 22000 (ISO 22000 FSSC), Actimeat is implementing the Food Defence approach
